Running a feasibility analysis
In this tutorial, you will perform a feasibility analysis for a model of a computer mouse shell plastic part design.
Define the mold and plastic part
Categorize your mold and plastic part components to allow the solver to identify them. You will then define their materials.

Compression Molding
- Compression molding overview
  Use SimForm to perform thermal cooling analyses for your plastic compression mold designs. These analyses help you identify hot spots on the plastic part and develop cooling layouts to improve part quality and reduce cycle times.

Define the mold and plastic part

Categorize your mold and plastic part components to allow the solver to identify them. You will then define their materials.

In the Mold Material card, expand the Select Material list and select P20 Mold Steel to define the mold material.
The solver assumes a well-designed mold considering the effect of the mold material on the part temperature and cooling time estimations.
In the display window, select the mouse shell plastic part.
In the Plastic Part card, click add to assign the component as a plastic part.
In the Plastic Part card, expand the Select Material list and select Acrylic (PMMA) to define the plastic part material.
