Navigating the app interface
The SimForm interface allows you to create and access projects and jobs, as well as add and manage users and account credits.

- Compression molding overview
  Use SimForm to perform thermal cooling analyses for your plastic compression mold designs. These analyses help you identify hot spots on the plastic part and develop cooling layouts to improve part quality and reduce cycle times.

  You can set up and run a SimForm project by uploading your CAD file, categorizing components, selecting materials, and running simulations.

    The SimForm entry page, called Projects, allows you to create, manage, and track projects.

  Use projects and jobs in SimForm to manage and organize your mold design tests.

  Use the setup page to categorize and define your model components properties for the solver to identify them.
- Defining mold properties
  Defining mold properties based on your analysis type ensures that the SimForm solver correctly identifies the mold components in your CAD model and considers their material properties in the thermal analysis.
- Defining plastic part properties
  Categorize your plastic part components and define their materials to allow the SimForm app solver to identify them.
- Defining cooling channels
  In a channel assessment job, if your model contains cooling channels, you must define the components that represent them so the solver can identify them.
- Defining manufacturing constraints
  In a channel recommender job, manufacturing constraints let you specify practical limits for how cooling channels can be manufactured in your mold.

  When running a simulation, the solver relies on specific assumptions and automated processes to ensure accurate and efficient results.

  The results page allows you to view and explore the thermal analysis results of your job after its simulation is completed.

Jobs panel options

Use the left panel to edit, add, and manage the jobs in your project.


Option	Description
Jobs list	Lists the jobs in the project. Each job allows you to evaluate specific design parameters.
Add a job	Opens the Add a New Job window to create a new job.
Job card	Displays the job title, description, and status.
Job card options
View Summary	Opens the job summary window to display the categorized components, assigned materials, and cooling parameters based on the job type.
Edit Job	Opens the Edit Job window that lets you edit the job information such as the job title and description. You can also delete or upload CAD files if the job is not submitted.
Cancel	Appears after submitting the job. Interrupts the solving process before its status changes to In Progress.
<Status>	Displays the job status. Not submitted—Before the job is submitted for solving. In progress—During the solve. Completed—Once the solve is finished. Failed—When the solve ends with an error or times out.
Compare Jobs	Appears when the solves of two or more jobs are completed. Displays the results of two jobs side-by-side to compare them. You can only compare jobs of the same type.
Solver Info	Appears when a channel assessment job solve is completed. Opens the Cooling Channel Results window that displays the flow rate, temperature rise, heat removal rate, and total heat removed for each cooling channel.
Solver Warning	Appears when the job solve is completed and the solver generates a warning. Opens the Solver Warning window containing the warning messages from the solver.
Estimated Cooling Time	Appears when the job solve is completed. Displays the estimated cooling time range in seconds.
Panel visibility options
Close side panel	Collapses the left panel.
Open side panel	Expands the left panel.
