Define the cooling channels

Extract the cooling channels from the mold, and identify the inlet and outlets for each channel.

You will use the Faces selection mode to extract the channels.

  1. In the toolbar, click Reset Camera .
  2. In the Channels card, select Faces.
  3. In the display window, rotate your model and select one face or use Ctrl-click to select all the faces of the perforated channels as shown.
  4. In the Channels card, click add to categorize the selections as channels.
    In the Channels card, notice that eight channels are extracted.
  5. Enable the Inlet/Outlet Selection Mode to define the inlets and outlets for the channels.
  6. In the display window, for each of the eight cooling channels, click the corresponding inlet surface to designate it as the inlet, and use Shift-click to select the corresponding outlet surface to designate it as the outlet, as shown in the following video.
    The selected inlet surfaces are displayed in purple and the outlets in green.
  7. In the Inlet Temperature, keep the default value of 25° C.
