Set up and run the recommendation analysis

Categorize the plastic part, define its material, and set the manufacturing constraints. Then, submit the job to generate recommended regions.

  1. In the Mold Material card, expand the Select Material list and select P20 Mold Steel to define the mold material.
  2. In the display window, select the flanged housing plastic part.
  3. In the Plastic Part card, click add to assign the component as a plastic part.
  4. Expand the Select Material list and select Polypropylene (PP) to define the plastic part material.
  5. In the Manufacturing Constraints card, in the Water Temperature box, type 25 °C to define the inlet cooling temperature value.
  6. In the Minimum Channel Distance box, type 15 mm to specify the spacing between cooling channels and the plastic part.
  7. In the Channel Radius box, type 4 mm to define the radius of the cooling channels.
  8. On the Setup page, click Submit Job to start the simulation process.
Wait until the solve status changes to Complete before proceeding to the next step. The solve process takes approximately 1 to 5 minutes. You can track the progress of the analysis in the job card.
