Using projects and jobs

Use projects and jobs in SimForm to manage and organize your mold design tests.

Using projects in SimForm

A project lets you test different variations of a plastic mold design. A project can contain multiple tests with different variations of the part, mold or cooling design to easily converge upon the optimal design.

Using jobs in SimForm

Each test or iteration in a project is called a job. You can create multiple jobs to evaluate and compare the:
  • Thermal performance of different cooling designs.
  • Various materials for the mold and plastic parts.
  • Impact of cooling time on the heat distribution in the plastic part.

You can create a job based on a previous one. The new job inherits the CAD model and uses the same model settings, which you can modify as needed.

Project pricing and job count

When you create a project, credits are deducted from your credit balance. Each project allows you to create a set number of jobs without using additional credits. If you exceed the maximum job count, you can create a new project to continue your analyses.

The number of required credits and maximum jobs depend on the project type, as shown in the following table.

Project type Credits Maximum number of jobs
Design project 10 12
Feasibility project 3 6
