Create a job
Create a job to evaluate specific design variations of a mold, such as different cooling channel configurations or material choices, within the same project. This allows you to optimize your design by comparing the performance of different setups.
An existing or a new project created.
-
In an existing project, at the top of the job list, click add
to open the Add a New Job window.
Note:When you create a new project, the Add a New Job window opens automatically. - In the Add a New Job window, in the Job Name box, type a meaningful job name. For example, Conformal cooling.
-
(Optional) In the Description box, type a job
description.
The job description will be displayed in the job panel to help you easily identify different jobs inside the same project.
- (Beta) From the Job Type list, select your job type.
- (Beta) For a channel assessment job in a channel design project, from the Recommendation Results list, select whether to import recommendations from a solved channel recommender job.
-
Click Select Files, select the CAD files to upload your
mold design, and click Open.
When you create a subsequent job, you can keep the same CAD file as the previous job or delete
it and upload a new one. When you upload a new CAD file with the same model
tree as a previous job, SimForm keeps the categorization and material definitions of components that have the
same name as those in the previous job. -
Click Add to create a new job.
Note:
Do not refresh the page until all CAD parts are fully loaded as it interrupts the process and prevents the model from loading.
The display window shows the mold design you uploaded.
Set up your model by defining its components so the solver can identify them and assign the appropriate materials.
