  Use SimForm to perform a thermal cooling analysis for your plastic compression mold designs. These analyses help you identify hot spots on the plastic part and develop cooling layouts to improve the part quality and reduce cycle times.

  Defining mold properties based on your analysis type ensures that the SimForm solver correctly identifies the mold components in your CAD model and considers their material properties in the thermal analysis.

  In design projects, if your model contains cooling channels, you must define the components that represent them so the solver can identify them.

Add a new job options

The Add a new job window lets you create a new job within a project.


Option	Description
Based on	Appears when you create a second or subsequent job. Displays the name of the job from which the current job inherits the CAD model and settings.
Job name	Specifies the job name. The name appears in the job card. Use a meaningful name that identifies your job so that you can easily find it.
Description	Lets you type a description for the job. The description appears in the job card to help you easily distinguish between your different jobs within the same project.
Start with a sample model	Appears if you have a trial account. Lets you select a sample conventional or conformal model.
Files Select file	Lets you select the CAD files to upload your mold and plastic part designs. It lists the supported CAD formats—STEP, STL, and Parasolid—and the maximum allowable size—512 MB—of the files that you can upload.
Uploaded CAD file	Appears when you create a second or subsequent job. Displays the names of the uploaded CAD files in the previous job. You can use the CAD files uploaded in a previous job instead of uploading a new CAD file. CAD file source—Displays the job name that uses the CAD file when you hover over it. Delete—Deletes the uploaded CAD file.
