Defining cooling channels
In a channel assessment job, if your model contains cooling channels, you must define the components that represent them so the solver can identify them.

Add baffles

Add a baffle to a cooling channel in SimForm to redirect coolant flow and improve cooling efficiency.

A channel assessment job with an uploaded mold or plastic part design is open in SimForm.

You can insert a baffle into any cooling channel, whether it was created in SimForm or imported from your CAD model.

In the display window, right-click a cooling channel body.
From the drop-down menu, select Add Baffle.
In the Create Baffle window, enter the Diameter and Length values of the baffle in millimeters.
Click Save to create the baffle.
The baffle appears in the model with rotation and translation arrows.
Use the arrows to rotate and move the baffle to the desired position in the channel.

You must make sure to connect the baffle to the channel body.

Repeat the steps to add more baffles if needed, then run the simulation to evaluate the effect on cooling performance.
